Vector is the sparkling of Hook and Vortex.
She was an accident due to Hook and Vortex having amorous relations in a cleaning storage cupbord that Breakdown happened to be hiding in. It turns out mechaniacal contraception doesn't fair well against his engine.
Hook decided to keep her despite the war still raging because he always wanted a student. If this sounds like an unhealthy reason to have child, yes, yes it is. Neither Hook nor Vortex will ever win parent of the year, but thankfully the other Constructicons and Combaticons stepped up to help. Because of this she has a wide range of skills learned from them all, but is an expert in none of them.
Vector has the capacity for long term planning but she’s too impulsive to stick to plans. She struggles with decision making because of the very different parenting styles she was brought up with. Vortex is laid back and gave her few rules or expectations. Hook is uptight, obsessed with rules and gave her high expectations.
Hook and Vortex are together but it’s often chaotic and this reflects in how Vector navigates interpersonal relationships.
